Behavior Analyst Specializations and Applications

Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is a scientific, structured, and strategic method for understanding and teaching behavior. Often used as an intensive therapeutic or educational approach, ABA targets socially significant behaviors and is defined by continuous observation, data collection, and regular assessment of a learner's progress. While the primary focus of ABA is on developing functional skills, it also works to replace behaviors that may hinder an individual’s ability to learn or function effectively in everyday life. ABA practitioners are employed across diverse fields, including education, healthcare (mental health), business management, sports, animal training, and any area where learning and performance improvement are key goals. ABA is not a "one-size-fits-all" approach; it tailors interventions to each unique individual and their specific challenges.
